The SOITC Eastern Rally of 2023 will be on Cape Hatteras which lies in the 
chain of long, thin barrier islands of the Outer Banks, which arch out into the Atlantic Ocean away from the U.S. mainland, then back toward the mainland, creating lagoons and estuaries sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean. It is the site where the two great basins of the East Coast meet.
For thousands of years, these barrier islands have survived onslaughts of wind and sea. Long stretches of beach, sand dunes, marshes, and maritime forests create a unique environment where wind and waves shape the topography. A large area of the Outer Banks is part of a National Park, called the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.The Outer Banks is well known for its Lighthouses, the Wright Brother’s Memorial and Blackbeard the Pirate among other facts and lore.
Camp Hatteras RV Resort and Campground is located on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We are surrounded by two bodies of water, the Pamlico Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, which is why they say, “Life on a Sandbar”.

Many people are arriving on April 15, however activities start on April 17. Most SOITC members will be on the Sound ($72/night), but Sound Front ($97/night) and Ocean Front sites are available at a slightly higher price.

Our campground sits on 50 acres with Oceanfront and Soundfront accommodations including RV and Tent Sites. Camp Hatteras is located at Milepost 40.5 on NC12 between Rodanthe and Waves. We are approximately 24 miles South of Nags Head and 35 miles North of the Village of Hatteras and the Ferry Docks to Ocracoke.
